I do think that the media like to focus on the too-fat or too-skinny issue. They just like to make headlines, and they know that this is an easy route. I see far too many stories about how thin so and so is, but why don’t they jsut leave EVERYONE alone? it doesnt make sense.
Heh, I actually am (possibly) malnourished (specifically vit b12 deficiency) and I was underweight right from the get-go. However, it’s most likely an inherited digestive issue, or autoimmune disorder preventing proper nutrient absorption. It’s definitely not anything I did or didn’t do, however.
I see the ‘too skinny’ (and of course the ‘too fat’) thing as another manifestion of the notion that everything women do is wrong. We don’t know how to take care of our bodies and we need others to guide our wayward ways. For instance, women who don’t breastfeed? Evil. Women who immodestly breastfeed in public? Also evil. Don’t have sex with too many people, slut! Oh, but stop being such a prude. And so on and so forth. And of course, food. GUYS LOVE GIRLS WHO EAT MEAT (especially steak)! Vegetarians be damned. (Ladies who don’t want a guy too, actually) But fat girls who eat meat? Oh, THAT’S why she’s so fat. Ugh. Pig.
I’m so glad there is a blog like this. I used to be teased for being really skinny too. It’s good to know someone is standing up for the criticism we skinny people get.

As someone who’s been both extremely skinny (read: anorexic) and overweight in the past, I’ve experienced discrimination left and right. I believe that health and happiness are what everyone – thin, obese, average – should be aiming for and no-one – thin, obese, average – should be discriminated against on the basis of their weight or appearance. It’s an approach called Health At Every Size.
oh, finally i found another blog about naturally skinny people! guess there are plenty of us out there – thanks heaps for your support also check my blog too everyone
So if all people should be accepted–thin as well as fat–why do you have a link to an anti-fat acceptance website on your blogroll? That undermines your credibility somewhat in my eyes.
